I just wasted 50 minutes not being able to log into my email, so here's another brief email.
I got transfered!!! But we could tell it was coming, so I was saying goodbye and taking pictures with people 2 days before. I am now actually in Santiago, and will die here. The area is a barrio called Hato Mayor. I have actually visited here 2 times because it is Hna. Brimley's old area and I had an exchange here once, so I kind of already know a little bit about it.
My new comp is Hna. Bischoff from Washington state (the dry side she said). I'm her step-mom, because she's from Hna. Ririe's group and just finished her training. I'm pretty excited about this area, and giving it my all in my last 2 transfers.
Also, this is the nicest house I've lived in. New, with closet door mirrors, A MICROWAVE, there isn't a layer of dust all over everything like in Monte Cristi. We have a little outside laundry room, and a hose to fill up the washing machine! We also have water and power 24/7!
It was a little scary leaving my own daughter in someone else's hands, but she's such a good missionary (better than me!) and her Spanish is excellent. She'll do great, and the people I left are in good hands.
Last week was cool, a couple Hna. Macias and I met went to an activity to watch "Meet the Mormons" which is an excellent documentary in my opinion. They were really touched by it, and then the husband went to church on Sunday and had a good time. It is always so exciting when people go to church!
Glad you had a nice Halloween! Take care, lots of love,
Hna. J.
