Dear family, I am so glad to hear all those stories and messages! I wish I could respond to all of them, but that would just not work out. I love you all! Dad: I´m glad you are feeling better(ish) and hope you don´t stay a 3 year old forever. When we lose water, we don´t lose drinking water, because we buy that in giant bottled jugs like at home. So no worries! And a ward member got us more gas that afternoon.
I am so glad Victoria and Brad´s wedding was wonderful, and that picture is lovely. My comp says she looks like a model :)
As for the topic of reading my scriptures: I love it so much more now! We only get an hour (if that) for scripture study every day, and oh how I wish I could have more. I did finish the Book of Mormon again, and that was lovely. And I started the New Testament, and it is so much fun, because I am so much less familiar with it. I am constanly blown away by how much of the gospel and doctrine is actually in there, and people just ignore it I guess, or don´t actually read the Bible. Things like Paul talking about Jesus being a high preist after the order of Melchizedek (!) and a reference to the apostles recieving their endowments in the temple (!!!!!!! Last chp. of Luke, last few verses!!!!!) And when Jesus tells the parable of the talents and says that those who were faithful over a few things will be rulers over many things (what could that mean.....?) And I´ve just really come to know the character of Christ better. I was so struck by the account of His last few days at the end of Matthew, and how he tells Peter, James, and John to ¨Sleep on, take your rest¨ when He wanted their support in Gethsemane, and was hoping they´d stay awake with Him, and they couldn´t. And then Peter cuts off the guards ear, when they are going to take Him away, and Jesus is like, ¨Don´t you knbow I could pray, and my Father could send legions of angels to my aid if I wanted it?¨ but He endured the suffering of the Atonement anyway, out of love, for us all. He is truly amazing.
Well, cool experience of the week: it torrentially rained a few days ago. And we were passing by a house and all of these kids were bailing water out of their front yard, because it was almost going to flood the house. So we stopped and helped. At first it seemed really futile, but those ninos and I worked out a system, and we actually drained the yard before the rain started again. Only took about an hour. And we´ve met with the family again, and they are really wonderful :) Sometimes our efforts seem like they are going to be wasted, but with time we can see the success. I´ve seen that in more ways than one.
Love you all, and thanks for ALL of the support, in every shape it takes!
Love Hermana J.
