So a lot has happened in the last week. We were in Santiago on P-Day last Wednesday so that we coud go to Santo Domingo on Thursday to get our Dominican residency. I've got a green card! I look like a serial killer in the picture, but hey what's new? So Wednesday night we stayed in the mission home and I finally got to meet Pres. Castillo and his family! They are really awesome; the kids are adorable, Hna. Castillo is really sweet, and he is really funny. As I was finishing eating dinner, he came over and said, "Can you talk with me in 2 minutes? Go ahead and finish your food..." I kind of thought he might ask about Hna. Santiago because I heard she's still not doing too great. But no. He was like, 'You're training!!! Felicidades!'
So now I'm a real mom. Hna. Ririe from Utah is my daughter. We stopped by the CCM in Santo Domingo and I saw her and knew it would be her. She's awesome. And it's so weird to put your brain back into newbie mind set, but it's cool. She's going to be an amazing missionary :) I also have 2 more sons because there are 2 new elders in the zone, and my first son is training so I'm an abuela as well. I have a huge mission family tree :D
And Hna. Brimley was sent to Villa with Hna. Santiago. I gave her a special letter to open for when things get tough. She is really amazing too. She was only with me for 4 weeks, but she helped me be a better missionary and we saw lots of miracles this past month. It is amazing how the Lord directs everything so perfectly if we are obedient. We have seen some investigators really become converted. You can see the change in their faces, in their actions, and in what the say. What a privilige the mission is!
Love you lots!
Hna. J.
PS. I love the New Testament a lot, Mom. There are so many hidden gems in there.
