Oh my goodness yes, it was a wonderful conference. I was all flustered and frustrated Sunday morning, because there was confusion about us going to eat lunh with some branch members before hand, and we missed it because someone had said the week before that they would just bring our food to the chappel. The husband found us on our way to conference and was mortally offended that we didn't go eat with them. So I was just feeling pretty sucky that morning, because it IS a big deal when they make food for you. Elder Stevenson's talk about feeling inadequate to his call as an apostle really hit me because I feel inadequate to be a missionary basically all the time. I shed a lot of tears during the Sunday morning session, it was all very tender. Elder Nelson's talk about women in the church was really powerful too, so after feeling all sad and weak, his call to stand up, speak up and take our rightful and needful places was really cool. We had 3 investigators go to conference and that was great too.
As far as interesting things go, we've been teaching a recent convert to read and write in Spanish. She's in her early 40s I would guess, and is kind of special needs. Just that she is very childlike, very sweet, she's always saying something funny. She is actually making some progress, little by little. She always says she wants to learn to read so that people can't trick her about what things say.
Glad to hear that round 2 of Dad's surgery is much better. :D I'm glad Afton will be there when I come home. Speaking of going home, I just got an email from one of the office elders asking about flight info, and that freaked me out a little.
If Heidi googles "The Fourth Missionary" by Lawrence C. Corbridge, she should find a pdf of it.
Love to everyone, talk to you next week,
Hna. J.
