It was so nice to talk to you all on Sunday! And really it is you that makes me happy and upbeat in the middle of a trial. I have recieved so many blessings, including a loving family, so I know that I can´t complain too much. This trial is almost over, and I know that everything will be alright. In fact, I know that I will have to face other difficult trials for the rest of my life, but I will also continue to recieve beautiful, precious blessings. Everything will be right in the end. That is the hope of the gospel, that´s what we are supposed to be sharing with others as missionaries--the joy, peace, blessings, and strength we have because we live the gospel. It´s a shame to me to see the missionaries who serve missions like it is a miserable chore. A chore they believe is important and necessary, and I know they are concerned for the salvation of others, and want to obey the Lord, but they teach the lessons like it´s something to get through as fast as possible to baptize people as fast as possible. They preach to put fear of the Lord into people´s hearts instead of love. The gospel is based on love. You have to love it and the Lord to live it, you have to love others for them to want it too. There was a lot of talk about love and service in zone conference yesterday.
So I have given a little thought to my post mission life, even though it is a little premature. But hey, they tell you to have plans for when you go home so that you don´t sit around doing nothing with your life. My real plan is to research Masters options and go to the temple and pray about it. But I am leaning towards the "go to Utah and live with Afton route." We will see.
Fun thing from today: I´ve finally visited The Monument to the Heroes of the Restoration in Santiago. It´s Santiago´s iconic landmark, this big tower with statues of patriotic historical figures, and some museum-y parts. I´ll send pictures one day.
Love you all! Next week will be action-packed because we´ll know if I stayed in Villa or no, who my comp is, and all that jazz. Till next week,
Hna. J.
