Hope girl's camp, Senior Aaronic, and dog sitting was fun! And Ethan's birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY ETHAN, I LOVE YOU!
I am enjoying my new area. It's super hot, and there are a lot of mosquitos, but apart from that it's a great area. We came home one night, and my clock said the house was 100 degrees. We were keeping the windows closed to keep out mosquitos, but now we just leave the windows open in the day because the house holds in too much heat. It could be worse though. Hna. Douglas says it gets up to 126 degrees in India were her charity is at. And they have humidity too. My first zone conference of the mission she showed us pictures of the lepers her organization treats, and I've learned that no matter how rough it is at least you're not a leper in India.
We had our last zone conference/training with los Douglas yesterday. They leave the 30th, and Pres. Castillo will arrive. I'm going to miss them a lot. They have cared for me so well. Hna. Douglas gave an amazing training on prayer yesterday. I've been thinking lately that I need to improve my prayers, and make improvements in general, and there is no better way to refine oneself spiritually but through the guidance of the Lord after asking for revelation through prayer. Included in her presentation was the method Elder Scott uses, that Hna. Cornelison taught me. You write the impressions you recieve after prayer, and then pray again, asking if what you got was correct, and ask if there is more you should know. This is something I love about the gospel, even though sometimes it intimidates me-- there is ALWAYS more to learn, and the Lord will continue to give us light and revelation if we recieve what He gives us initially. I need to work on the acting on promptings part. It's like the parable of the talents, we don't recieve more if we don't care for what we are given first.
I haven't written about Dominican Things in a while. Naming your business something religious is a Domincan Thing. That was something that was weird at the beginning of the mission, Christian grafiti, "God is with me" on all the cars. This country is devoutely, loud and proud Christian. Here are my top three Negocios de Dios that I've seen thus far:
