So last week I said I would explain more about Mayor, our investigator whose baptism date is THIS SATURDAY! He is stellar-- he has such a sincere desire to do the Lord's will, he is extremely humble, he puts into practice what we teach (has fasted once already and visited the temple grounds in Santo Domingo), he's reading General Conference talks, and the Book of Mormon. He always has questions for us, and he always thinks intently about what we teach. When we ask him questions, he thinks about his answer before hand.
He wants to be baptized and he feels that everything we have taught as been true. However he is still waiting for some special answer from God to tell him he should be baptized. Even though he has already had some pretty miraculous spiritual experiences. We have been teaching him about the ways the Lord communicates with us, and that has been very interesting and a good topic to ponder for me. We can't demand signs from the Lord. We can't expect Him to give us answers in one manner. The lessons with Mayor lately have been so strongly filled with the Spirit. I have felt very priviliged to be included in all of the missionaries who have been teaching him since November.
Well yesterday was St. Patrick's Day. We made a 'Happy St. Patrick's Day" poster for a sister who is in the hospital and then we visited her. She was in my CCM group, and Hna.Harden was her trainer. She was hit by a motorcyclist and has 10 stitches in her head and severe burns on her legs and arms, but she is doing well all things considered.
ALEX!!!!!! You emailed me!!!! I LOVE YOU STILL, TOO!!!!!!! Say hi to Afton, I pray for you guys too!
Love,
Hna. J.
